Social Networking to Reach Young Affluents

As a Generation Y'er, the generation known as being tech savvy and into gadgets, I have grown up knowing how to operate, explore and enjoy the world of technology. It is a known fact that social media outlets are becoming the new way of connecting people to people and businesses to businesses, but how do you get those who aren't Gen Y'ers to participate?

In a Wall Street Journal article, Social Networking to Reach Young Affluents, Steve Crosby, head of wealth management at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, shows financial advisers the importance of connecting to younger generations through Facebook and Twitter to bridge the wealth transfer gap.

BlackBerry Rolling Out Twitter Application

The Twitter phenomenon has entered the social media world in full force. According to to the Twitter website, "Twitter is a real-time information network powered by people all around the world that lets you share and discover what’s happening now." Over the past year Twitter has become an integral part of businesses' advertising and public relations strategies in order to make meaningful connections with the right audiences at the right time.

Twitter users want to be able to update their tweeple, or twitter followers, at any given time whether they have access to a computer or not. Many smartphone providers have been working to come up with applications for their phones in order to rival the infamous iPhone. BlackBerry has done just that...
